It's true that you would not normally see animals on a therapy and consulting practice website! But Psalm Valley carefully chose it's 'mascot' and logo to be a lamb for 3 reasons:
You do not have to be a Christian for us to help you, but understand we do work within that framework. We are here to assist you with integrity and compassion in achieving your behavioral health goals the best way we know how. We hope that you will feel the love of Christ shine from within us as we serve you as professionals.
Faith-based therapy
We promise to serve you with integrity in every step of your journey. Our goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and live life abundantly, free from bondage to your emotions, addictions or relationships.
Our focus is to help individuals heal, become aware of the inner strengths they've been blessed with and utilize faith principles for real- life application. Our treatment approaches vary according to the situation. We practice CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ROCT (Recovery Oriented Cognitive Therapy) and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy), and Existential Therapy among others.
We help you to achieve your goals by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan that you can live with!
Our experience enables us to offer effective individualized, psychological care. We treat a number of mental health disorders, and some coping issues that may not be 'disorders' by providing a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals, families, and couples.
We provide expert consulting with focus on educating businesses, churches and organizations on Mental Health awareness. Answering the difficult behavioral health questions that affect life in the workplace, in the place of worship and in the community.
Relationships are often difficult because couples don' t possess the tools they need to communicate, heal and thrive. Most of the problems within a marriage emanate from one of these three areas. We were meant to be different but in a complimentary way, not a contentious way. Learning and understanding one another as unique beings can be challenging, but it is one of the greatest gifts within a marriage. Man and woman were meant to emulate a picture of how God loves His own. It takes work to model that picture! There are times when hurt from the past causes scars that don't seem to heal without some help or a break down in communication becomes a catalyst to giving up and letting go. Whatever it may be, let us help you get back to being a healthy thriving couple....again.
Many times, substance and alcohol abuse appears to be a mysterious trap that people can't get out of. It's mysterious because no one seems to have a good answer. But there is an answer - it just may not be the answer you are willing to hear. Truth is, you can't fight what's in the spiritual, through the natural: going to groups and repeating mantras. You're bound to replace one addiction for another. Usually, people are told they have to attend groups indefinitely.... (until 'groups' become the addiction). You miss a couple and before you know it, you're hooked again. This is not recovery,...and no, relapse is NOT a part of recovery.
We help you to understand the spiritual nature of all addictions, not just drugs and alcohol. We walk with you through your recovery. It's hardwork, but we're committed to you, as long as you let us. We do this through intensive individual therapy and coaching. We partner with other faith-based organizations should you need detox or long-term residential treatment and follow-up with you thereafter. There is freedom from drugs and alcohol...and that is the truth.
Mental health is all about being able to function in a way that allows you to grow and live up to your greatest potential. If you become dysfunctional in your thinking, perceiving or feeling it hinders your growth, damages your relationships, limits your opportunities and potential to thrive, causing you great concern. As Americans, we are so focused on diagnosing and labeling our pain and suffering. We've re-defined normal as feeling no pain, being happy all the time, never grieving, never feeling anxious or lonely, having no uniqueness of being or experience.
Today people have the liberty of going online and finding a diagnosis, ascribing it to themselves and functioning within what they believe that diagnosis says about who they are and how they should behave. So in fact, one person having gone to several practitioners can have several different kinds of labels....a recipe for confusion.
Our focus is not to get you the correct label but to help you achieve your behavioral health goals. Do you need to be less anxious? Less afraid? More in control of your emotions? More able to cope with adversity and achieve your work or personal goals? What is it you want to do? That's what matters. We want to help you with what matters!
We didn't make a long list of problems that we treat (as you may have seen with other professionals). We focus on 3 simple areas because within these areas many things can be covered.
We don't claim to be able to treat all behavioral health concerns but we are committed to doing our best within the scope of our practice. We look forward to hearing from you!
